I’ve never really considered myself the creative type.  I did join a few poster-making contests in the younger days, but that was just to satisfy the demands of teachers who seem to think that honor roll students are supposed to be multi-talented.

I do have an eye for art though, I guess that stems from the fact that I excel in theater arts.  I guess the art forms are all interconnected in a way.  But while I can do a pirouette with ample grace, deliver a declamation with raw emotion, and sing a few bars with a nice vibratto, I can never do a Dali, much less, a Da Vinci.  Lately though, I have been getting in touch with my inner artiste, mostly because of need.

Recently, my hubby has been singing the praises of some newly-released phones.  Among his list of favorites are the Sony Ericsson C905, Samsung Innov8, Samsung Ultra-Touch, LG Renoir, and the soon-to-be-released Sony Ericsson Idou.  That’s not to say that we can afford to buy such phones right now.  But hubby’s enthusiasm made me realize that there is, indeed, a mobile phone world beyond Nokia *laughs*.

When the time does come, however, that we can afford to buy a phone, I am leaning towards purchasing a Samsung Ultra-Touch.  I’d love to own a touch-screen phone.  And I love the fact that it has a slider with an alpha-numeric keyboard too!  The only negative thing I could say about it is that it has no Wi-Fi connectivity, and the only color available is black.  I hope they do come up with a color like Sony’s tender Rose. *o*

But the thing about mobile phones is that new models get released every single quarter [or is it every single month?].  The new and pricey ones today would soon be upstaged by the more innovative breakthroughs of tomorrow.  So I guess my choice of phone remains to be seen up until the time I could finally afford to buy a new one!

P.S.  Thanks to GSM Arena for the photo on my post!  Not only do you guys have cool photos, you have very informative reviews as well. n_n

Like majority of Pinoys, I am an intensely loyal fan of the Nokia brand when it comes to mobile phones.  It all started during the heyday of the Nokia 5110 in the mid-90’s.  From then on, I have owned one Nokia phone model after another.

I am literally having cluster headaches with all the inconveniences I’ve experienced the past week with two of the country’s supposedly “best” networks.

Having experienced some difficulties in securing a landline and internet subcription for the business, James and I decided to make do with a wireless landline for the time being.  After reaching that decision, we purchased a PLDT wireless landline prepaid SIM card and the necessary credits required for registration.  And then along came the dilemma: we had no phone handset to put the SIM card in. -.-

Yesterday, James and I, with my mom, Martha, Mommy Jocelyn, and Tatay To, headed off to SM North EDSA to buy our computers.  We went straight to Villman Computers, expecting that we would be able to purchase our 3 units of Acer Aspire M3710.  But as fate would have it, the units were unavailable and won’t be available until April 13th.  Add that to the fact that they were asking us to charge the total amount and pay a 500 peso delivery charge with no assurance of when the units would be delivered.  That was one exasperating experience.

It was really a blessing that we were able to get estimates from several computer shops the other day.  We headed to Octagon Computers and I inquired about the availability of the units.  Unfortunately, they only had one in stock of the M3710.  But fortunately, they had other good units in stock.  It was a blessing in disguise, I guess, because we were able to purchase our 3 units; one was the M3710, one was the Slim X1700 unit which James preferred, and one was the high specification M5711 which I preferred.  With 3 different units, it was a veritable PC salad!  The salesclerks who assisted us were very accomodating and we got everything we needed.  Also, I bought my Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop and Epson Perfection scanner at the Octagon Alabang branch so I have good experience with the store.  Clicky on (more…) for the specs.
