More than words

  

     I always tell you that you’re the gifted writer in this relationship.  Your stories have a unique way of making words come to life, such that they seem to leap off a page to paint vivid pictures.  Your essays bare your soul for everyone to see, such that all those who care to look can’t help but feel your pain or join in your elation.  Your letters touch me so profoundly, such that I could almost feel you holding me in your arms as I read each line.

     They say that some people wear their heart on their sleeve.  But I believe that you channel not just your heart, but also your soul, on your pen and your keyboard.  It takes great knowledge to be a philosopher, great skill to be an author, and great imagination to be a storyteller.  But to be a great writer, you need all these and more.  You need heart and soul and vision… the way you do.

     I am so proud of you, my angel.  For me, you represent the best of everything, simply because you give your all in everything you do, in the same way that you pour out all your thoughts and feelings in everything you write.  I’m sure that so many people would agree when I say that you are one of the most talented young writers I know, for many different reasons.  But I think that the best thing about your writing aren’t the topics you expound on or the words you choose… not the careful details of your expositions or the themes that you elucidate…  not your metaphors or your turns of phrase…  For me, the best thing about your writing is that you mean every single word that you say.

     More than words, it is the clarity of your thoughts and the purity of your feelings that make your writing so special and so unique.  For this, and so many other reasons…
