Heaven’s Tears

    

 If heaven is where all the angels are… why does it still shed tears…?

     I woke up to the soft patter of raindrops on my window.  The rain was falling down in a fine sheet, smooth as silk… enshrouding everything in a misty veil.  The wind felt cold on my skin, and for a fleeting moment I wished with all my being for the warmth of an embrace.

     But I did not succumb to the melancholia, because if I did, my eyes would once again form a mist of their own, enveloping my heart and my soul with longings that would remain unfulfilled.  Instead I think of the romance… the courtship of a million raindrops falling from heaven in a seemingly limitless waltz.  Each individual drop falling through air and space, only to mingle with its brothers and sisters when they touch the earth.

     I imagine the fall to be exhilirating, a breathtaking rush of pure surrender to destiny.  And I realize that each and every day, my heart is engaged in such a fall as well.  An endless falling… a surrender to destiny… a leap of faith.

     If heaven is where all the angels are… why does it still shed tears…?   I started writing without knowing the answer to this question, but now, after a few moments of reflection, I think I know why.  Not all the angels are in heaven, for not all angels are celestial beings that are so out of reach.  We find angels in the unlikeliest places, in times when we least expect them.  They touch our lives profoundly and sometimes, a single touch can alter a lifetime.

     I know I have found my angel, my best friend, my miracle, my twinflame.  And feeling his love enveloping my soul in a warm embrace, I know, with a firm conviction, that whatever tomorrow may bring, my lifetime would be forever altered…

     I love you beyond distance or time or pain…  I love you without thought of endings or goodbyes…  I love you without taking heed of questions or doubts…  I love you with all that I was, all that I am, and all that I would be… I love you with all my heart and soul; with the very essence of my being…  I love you in a way no words can ever define…  I love you with every breath and with every heartbeat…  I love you infinitely…  I love you James Castillo Aquino…  I love you…
